Female Surf Photography
Aline is a Cornwall-based photographer specialising in surf photography. Aline has been documenting female surfers for the past few months as well as producing graceful close-ups of the ocean's attributes and movements of the water with wonderful attention to detail. Not only does Aline capture beautiful images of skills of intricacy from female surfers, but also the calming, relaxing effect the ocean can give to us, particularly in Cornwall which you can see from her series of shots below.
I have recently been discovering my passion for female surfing, highlighting a gap in the niche sport. Over the past few months, I have been focusing on acknowledging female surfers, appreciating them for their skills rather than for their appearance, regardless if they conform to the typical surfer girl stereotype or not. This series focuses on the minimalistic side of the ocean along with surfing, appreciating simplicity and calmness, just like how the ocean makes me feel.
I shoot on my Canon 5d IV whilst using my AquaTech water housing when I’m shooting in the ocean, relying on the best housing definitely eases my mind in bigger surf conditions. After recently changing cameras, going from the Canon 750d, the step up was definitely essential and I couldn’t ever think about going back.
