By October 2023, I had a strong portfolio of work from Vernon Blackmore’s array of restaurants in Suffolk. One of his establishments (The Duck, Campsea Ashe) grew with popularity that summer mainly due to word of mouth, and so the attention was caught by the editors for the East Anglian Daily Times.

The Duck manager, Ed, informed the editors that my photography of The Duck was ‘the best’ (thank you Ed!) so I was contacted by the team and there we have it, my first proper publication.

The EADT focuses a lot on independent restaurants that have been thriving within just a few months of opening. The piece on The Duck highlights that cosy comforting feeling you receive as you walk into a homely pub.
